NCCC: Racially Motivated Attack Reported
Lockport Union-Sun and Journal (N.Y.), Dec. 3, 2006
Security officials at Niagara County Community College are escorting a student to her classes after she was beaten in the hallway of Building E about noon on Wednesday, according to the Niagara County Sheriffís Department.
The victim told deputies she was text messaging a friend when she noticed a black woman in her 20s. The woman said, “What are you looking at Whitey?”
The victim walked away, but was pulled back by her hair and had her head smashed against the wall. She fell to the floor where the attacker kicked her in the head, chocked her and repeatedly punched her.
The victim told deputies she did not know the assailant, who said after the beating, “Now you will know who I am. I own you, white girl.”
The assailant spit at her and asked her if she was going to cry now.
The victim screamed for help, but the class was in session at the time and there was nobody around.
The victim sustained a laceration to her left eyebrow, bruises on her right eye and bruises on her neck and shoulder areas. She was not treated at the scene but iced her injuries and treated herself at home.
She said that she had never seen the woman before. The attacker, a black female, wore a large gold name chain hanging from her neck and had numerous gold rings on her fingers.
